Love how Tatiana has worn her hi-lo/dipped hem dress: cinched with a belt to make it empire line-ish and black laced up ankle boots. The way she has styled her look reminds me a little of Laura's look....
Yesterday, when it was teaming with rain here in London, I saw 3 separate girls wearing army jackets/anoraks over dresses and thought they looked great. Inspired by their looks, I decided to post the photos of this girl and Jac (see post above) from couture in Paris....both wearing an army jacket in very different ways. If you don't already have one in your wardrobe, vintage/charity stores always seem to have a few in stock (there is one vintage shop in the Marais in Paris which always seems to have a couple available).
Such a fresh, pretty summery look: a lovely white peplum top, jeans, wedges and a basket bag (so chic and so often confined to fruit and veg shopping at the markets, or carrying things to the beach. This brings it back to city wear).
Okay, so I think you all know that I love anything in lace and this Valentino dress on Tamu is no exception. I love the shape, the fabric and the beautiful ivory colour. A dress to take you from day to evening and everywhere in between.
This was my day spent at the beautiful, magical, whimsical celebration of life, love, family, food, friends, music, the outdoors (and so much more) that was the Wilderness Festival 2012. It is difficult to explain just how beautiful the Cornbury Estate is: lakes, a waterfall, hidden forests, fields of deer, ancient trees and lush green fields....it is truly a little (although the estate comprises 1700 acres so maybe not so little!) piece of paradise in the heart of Oxfordshire.
I had a wonderful day wandering around the festival taking photographs, chatting to people (bumped into a few familiar fashion week faces!), eating incredible food and drinking in the magical surroundings. I can't wait for next year's festival.
p.s. I know, I know, a LOT of photos again (maybe I need an intervention?!) so congrats if you made it through the entire post without closing down the page :) I totally forgot to take food photos (particularly the Yotam Ottolenghi banquet) but figure I can do that next year :)
p.p.s Thank you so much to everyone who let me take their photograph including all the mum's and dad's that let me take photos of their kidlets.
November: Scotland as a travel destination; a dram of whisky (....for breakfast with creamy porridge. That's just how the Scots roll!), clay pigeon shooting, roaring fires and loch-side strolls at The Torridon, Scottish Highlands; Delicious smoked salmon from Inverawe Smokehouse (scrumptious on Cradoc's Pear & Earl Grey tea cocktail biscuits with a squeeze of lemon, and served with a glass of champagne); Jamie Oliver's fish pie (we made this with smoked fish from Inverawe Smokehouse. Wonderfully filling and comforting after a day spent in cold and rainy weather); Pact coffee (love the idea of freshly roasted beans, delivered weekly); Rag & Bone Roseburg velvet blazer (timeless, sumptuous velvet in a beautiful deep red colour. This reminds me of one Emily Weiss from Into the Gloss wore a couple of seasons ago); 3.1 Phillip Lim Quill cutout velvet booties(a hint of decadent velvet); Moschino Cheap and Chiclace-paneled tweed mini dress(gorgeous with a pair of t-bar pumps); Stella McCartney colour-block sweater (the colours remind me of an In-N-Out burger....and for that I love it!); Alice + Olivia Kailey leather midi dress (love a leather skirt and this midi is the perfect sexy/practical combination for winter); Topshop Ultimate Sheepskin coat (vintage-y goodness for winter); Rebecca Minkoff Cory Monogram pouch (a cute gift - excellent as a stocking filler - for a friend or sibling. Just sad they don't seem to stock a V....); Topshop short sleeve lace crop dress (a pretty look for the festive season); ASOS White sweater in dip dye (snuggly + beautiful colours. Team with jeans and boots); Coral & Tusk Artic Animals cocktail napkins (ridiculously sweet, and a perfect stocking filler for the holidays); Moby shower curtain (a fat whale in the bathroom?! Oh yes, please!); Aspen bunny (last year I got this little guy - in miniature - as a Christmas decoration. I hope the bigger version appears in my Christmas stocking!); Watching: Homeland (of course); Reading: Him & Me by Jack and Michael Whitehall (I have just ordered this book. Can't wait to dive into it); Munching on: Baked camembert in a box (stud with an unpeeled clove of garlic and sprigs of rosemary, bake until gooey and serve with vegetable crudites). An easy festive season treat to serve with pre-dinner drinks.
I am an Australian lawyer turned photographer living in London;
I take a thousand photographs every day - some in my head, some with my camera;
I can't imagine doing anything else with my life- I am totally and utterly in love with my camera and with the people and things I photograph
